Ironworks have been building a big reputation for putting on the biggest dance acts recently, and doing it extremely well and with the recent hugely successful nights with 2 many dj’s, Erol Alkan and Dave Clarke (all fantastically reviewed by Garry McCartney), The Ironworks is firmly establishing itself as one of the top club venues in Scotland.
So what’s next? Another tow acts have been recently announced 2 have been announced in the last few days and one of which has not!
First off we have Chase and Status (DJ set) Sat 21st May whose fans include Jay Z, Snoop Dogg and Pharrell as fans, as well as drum and bass’ finest Andy C, Hype and Pendulum and enthusiastic support of Annie Mac and Zane Lowe. Not bad for 5 years work! Described as “the biggest crossover act to come out of the underground since Pendulum”
Which leads us nicely on to Australians, Pendulum (DJ Set) Sat 4th June, whose clear mission has always been to pull together their production resources, ideas and influences from various styles of music, to create a new sound that they felt was missing from dance music.
But we did say three of a kind, oh yes three of the biggest club acts, so to the latest announcement. From Australia we go to Northern Ireland with none other than Japanese Popstars on the 11th of May. Their second album ”Controlling your Allegiance” is due in June, preceeded by the single release of “Song for Lisa” on April the 4th. The purveyors of “foot-stomping, energetic electronic dance music” are complimented by a must-see live act which should make them well worth a visit when they come to the Ironworks.
