Fast-rising Scots indie band Kassidy have stepped in to replace Frightened Rabbit as Saturday headliners on the Hothouse Stage at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival (5th/6th August)

“When Frightened Rabbit had to pull out due to the offer of a tour in the US, we immediately thought of Kassidy,” said festival promoter Joe Gibbs. “They played Bella last year and went down a storm; since then they have sold out The Ironworks and lots of other venues, and we are really proud to be able to offer them their first major festival headline slot.”

“"It’s such an honour to be invited back to Belladrum and to be headlining the stage we played last year. We cannot wait!" said Kassidy ‘s Lewis Andrews.

Also added to the Bella bill are the Brit, Mercury and NME awards nominated Guillemots featuring Fyfe Dangerfield; Idlewild’s Roddy Woomble who headlines the Black Isle Brewery Grassroots Stage on the Saturday; Fast Rising Highland Star Rachel Sermanni; there is electronic beats from Unicorn Kid; Aberdeen indie band The Xcerts; alt country singer-songwriter King Charles; acoustic folk artistes Ben Howard and Lucy Rose; 2 piece noisemongers Bronto Skylift; and Raghu Dixit from Bangalore, who describes his music as ‘indo world folk rock.’

The fast speed at which weekend tickets are selling has prompted festival organisers to bring forward the release of a limited number of Saturday adult and 12-and-under tickets via www.skiddle.com (e-tickets only), The Ironworks and Eden Court Inverness

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me direct at chris@igi.gs
