Just about Movies (JAM) is a movie based festival which is being held at Blair Castle in Ayrshire Sept 2nd – Sept 4th. JAM is screening 100 films over three days spanning a range of genres including horror, sci-fi, comedy, cult movies, romance and world cinema. Specially designed Festival Cinemas include The Hammer Film Tent and The Best of Bond which will feature director John Glen and actress Maryam D’Abo discussing the making of The Living Daylights.
One of the Festival organisers, Joe Baillie, commented “I have always been a massive film fan and having worked in the industry a few years back I thought it would be very cool to have a weekend of films and film related activities staged in the same way as a music festival would be. The reaction from the film industry has been fantastic and as well as some great guests, we will be featuring several UK premieres and many films you simply do not get to see in your average Multiplex.”
JAM is particularly pleased to announce collaborations with The Glasgow Film Festival and Grimm Up North who will be hosting their own Festival Cinemas over the JAM weekend which shall feature several film premieres.
Highland Eventz is pleased to announce that they have been appointed official promoting agents for JAM. Darren Mackintosh, of Highland Eventz, explained “The idea of a movie event in the style of the summer music festivals is a fantastic one. It’s a great opportunity for movie lovers from all over Scotland to re-visit old favourites and to discover the new film making talent which will be on offer throughout the weekend.”
He added, “Happy Bus have agreed to lay on transport from Elgin and Inverness to help movie buffs from the North to get to this great event. Details of the buses, camping options, artists and ticket prices can be found by following the link on our homepage www.highlandeventz.com .”
Tickets are on sale now for JAM – Just About Movies on 2nd – 4th September 2011. Tickets are priced from £22.50 for children and £32.00 for adults. via www.highlandeventz.com
