Kasabian last played the Highlands in 2007 at the Skye Music Festival (and the Ironworks), it was a coup then, as in many respects it was for Rockness this year.Kasabian’s pedigree had never been in doubt (although the fit into Rockness and potential “nedfest” it may have caused, did create some conversation).
From stepping on the stage , you could clearly see that Rockness was in very good and safe hands indeed, these are a band that are on the top of their game and we suspect the only thing stopping them from finishing the stage on the Sunday night was the offer of closing the Isle of Wight.
The size of crowd was startling considering it was a Friday night, which had previously had arguably more low key openers. The electricity in anticipation was clearly evident, as was the subsequent reaction.
The encore was truly appreciate by the fans, the encore consistes of Switchbade Smiles, Stuntman (I Feel Love) and of course Fire.
Very much a case of job done, best headline act in the history of Rockness, arguably, yes…. so far.
