Just a quick note for people who have already thought about the festive season, the Iron Works have announced their band for Hogmanay 2011/2012. Torridon, stomping their Celtic rock feet firmly on to the ground and raising the glasses at midnight. You can picture it now and we suspect that it will create just the right atmosphere for those wanting to sing loudly, have a dance and get the craic at New Year. Oh and by the way no snow or rain or wind indoors.

apologies I could not easily find a good quality Torridon video

We tried very hard not to have a but, and there is no but. Torridon show a  change in the Ironworks thinking as for the last two years of having a club night on Hogmanay. It will however be similar to the planned Red Hot Highland Fling 2011/2012 who have already announced Wolfstone as one of  the acts playing. The fact that the Ironworks will be offering an indoor alternative, is very enticing indeed.

Tickets are available through the Ironworks website.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me direct at chris@igi.gs
