The all-female quartet Dorec-a-Belle have been building their profile including a slot at Celtic Connection 2012, supporting The Staves and airplay on the Iain Anderson show. The band were described as “specialising in poignant songs but can also knock out a mean Cajun beat when required.” by one of our reviewers of Belladrum 2011 or put more succinctly by another “This group has a fantastic musicality”.

Moving away from an early description of the band as a female version of Mumford & Sons, there has always been something magical about the lead singer’s, Maryann Frew, voice and songs and this is certainly complimented (dare I say enhanced) by the band.

The forthcoming show marks the release of the 5 track album sampler (for the first track please see above) and will be available for sale at £5.

Entry to the event is free, with doors open from 830pm.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me direct at chris@igi.gs
