Last year saw the likes of Iain McLaughlin, The Frues and Graham Brown take to the stage. This year, arguably, brings a greater mix of acts to cheer up the Saturday afternoon shopping blues.

Singer songwriter. Steven Barclay, will be opening proceedings and can be seen the week later at the HEN stage at Belladrum. Another HEN stager who will be playing is 16 year old Josephine Sillars she continues to impress with a her vocals, piano playing and song writing skills. Brian O hEadhra, the Gaelic and English singer songwriter has been playing for over 25 years during which time he has played with the likes of Cruinn, Sandy Brechin and Bruce MacGregor.

Hoodja returns to the event for the second year albeit with a different line-up. Toby Michaels Rolling Damned will also be playing, fresh off supporting Estrella in Aberdeen. Last on the bill is a rare acoustic set from Last Summer Effect.

Essentially the event is about raising money for Cancer Research UK, so your support and of course your money is very much welcomed.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me direct at chris@igi.gs
