The end of the month sees the second MV festival take over Aviemore and the organisers have been kind enough to offer us a couple of tickets for the event.

MV LOGO SEP 2012 FINAL 1

The festival is hosted over three nights from the 1st of March and sees multiple venues hosting a wide range of music and comedy acts.

Toploader was announced as headliner of the Saturday night, late last year, and they join a bill of 33 music acts (and counting!!). Katie Sutherland, Brown Bear & The Bandits, The Dangleberries and Dave ‘Bucket’ Colwell (formerly of BAD COMPANY) & Friends have also been announced. The festival have not been shy to invite back acts who impressed last year including Be Like Pablo, Last Summer Effect, Slip Stream and Smiling Ivy.

Local acts are also very well represented whether that’s The Oxides, Megan Blyth (also returning), Purple Divide,  Toby Michaels Rolling Damned and Jemma Tweedie. The festival will also be a great opportunity to see acts new to the area including Beccy Atherton, Down to My Last, Sam Brett and We Found Out.

On the comedy line-up are Terry Alderton, Andrew Maxwell, Phil Nicol, Craig Campbell, Tony Jameson, Iszi Lawrence and Billy Kirkwood.

Anyway we digress, we did mention a competition…. PLEASE NOTE COMPETITION NOW CLOSED AND WINNER NOTIFIED

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me direct at chris@igi.gs
