Reef and more announced in the latest line-up additions to Belladrum 2014.
Reef celebrate twenty one years in the business by playing Belladrum this year. During their years they have supported the likes of Paul Weller, The Rolling Stones and Soundgarden. Whilst ‘Place Your Hands’ can be described as almost perfect festival fayre, it is hard to ignore other hits including ‘Come Back Brighter’ and ‘Consideration’.
Despite a lengthy career it has limited impact on their live shows , our reviewer noted of their Loopallu 2013 appearance. “It is almost 20 years since some of these songs were recorded but the music feels in no way dated and the band themselves put on a fresh and enjoyable performance with some impressive headbanging from bassist Jack Bessant with a hair and beard combo to rival Gandalf the Grey.”
Also announced in the line-up multi-instrumentalist siblings Kitty, Daisy and Lewis who describe themselves as “A mix up of dirty R’n’B & blues, whiskey soaked country, haunting Hawaiian jungle drums and Gospel fever, with a punch in the face by Daisy’s hard beatboxing”.
Blackpool’s Rae Morris who we spoke to way back in 2012 , her music is “angst-with-brains- sharp and emotional without be sickly”.She is definitely endearing having sold out venues including Alexandra Palace to the Emperess Ballroom in her hometown.
Roo Panes heads up from Dorset again to play the festival having played Hootananny, in May. Aided by the use of one of his tracks by Burberry, he also released his second EP Land Of The Living in December last year. The last act on this announcement is emerging artist Daniel James.
