Jonah Matranga to play Tooth & Claw in August.

An act that describe’s his sound as somewhere between Prince, Bjork and The Clash can truly earn the tag ‘unique’. Jonah Matranga ,who has performed under the name onelinedrawing and, has been a member of Gratitude, New End Original and Far.

In particular it was the release of ‘Water & Solutions’ when he was fronting Far that has earned him particular attention. “It’s a little strange…in a really good way!”, Jonah starts talking about his impact on others, adding “It’s nice to realise that people listen to those records, and especially people that went on to make other music, because I play music because I love it so much and so if I ever pass that on to someone and help them want to have a band, then that’s great!” That influence has touched bands such as  Hell is For Heroes, Biffy Clyro and Funeral for a Friend.

He has been focussing on his solo career since 2010 with Alternative Press keen to impress “under his own name still sounds as sweet… Matranga may have done his best work while flying solo.” A true example of a hardworking musician having played as many house shows as he has huge festivals, he promises a creative, personal and unique performance. He certainly has a lot top say as can be seen from his 2016 Ted Talk entitle Chance and Choice. His sixteen date, Alone Rewinding, UK Tour sees him play Inverness as one of four  Scottish gigs.

Jonah Matranga play Tooth & Claw, Inverness on August the 8th, 2017.
