Skerryvore announce themselves for the official Hogmanay celebration in Inverness

It perhaps comes as no surprise that Skerryvore announced at their Blas performance that they will be playing The Red Hot Highland Fling. Having played the event in previous years and certainly fitting into the mould of up beat traditional acts, Skerryvore are the first act to have been announced for the Highland Council run event.

The multi-award winning band describe themselves as having a unique fusion of their traditional music and songs with the urban sounds of rock, pop and funk. The band have gently returned from the USA leg of their Live Forever promotional tour.

In 2016/17 the New year celebrations starred The Elephant Sessions, Scooty and The Skyhooks and Skerryvore held together by comedian Craig Hill (pretty much a standard fixture for the event now. But let’s be clear standing in the middle of park in Winter in Inverness is never (ever) going to be “Red Hot”, in saying that the organisers are always keen to guarantee a bit of a fling.

Red Hot Highland Fling will be held at the Northern Meeting Park, Inverness on the 31st of December.

Additional details of the event will be announced soon, sign up to our mailing list above to make sure you do not miss anything.
