We introduce to you Bethany Wappler and ask her a few questions.

Who are you ?

I am a singer/songwriter originally from Inverness. I have loved and explored music from a young age and in 2015 moved to Perth to study BA (Hons) in Popular Music to allow me to pursue my musical career.

What do you do ?

I am a singer/songwriter so I write and perform my own songs. I tend to write in the genre of Folk. I love all genres of music from Jazz to Rock and I hope to be able to write in and explore different genres for my own material eventually. I have definitely explored songwriting whilst I having been at Uni and have learnt of a lot of new techniques and processes which have hopefully helped me to improve in my songwriting.

For fans of…. ?

I LOVE Gabrielle Aplin! She is such an inspiration of mine from her vocal techniques to her songwriting skills. I try to learn from her as much as possible. I also love John Mayor, Fleetwood Mac and The Goo Goo Dolls, plus many more. I would say they have all influenced me greatly but even artists such as Joe Bonamassa and Elvis Presley who are from a completely different genre, have definitely inspired me too from lyric writing to performance.

Where are you going ?

The short term plans are to write, record and release another EP and go a little tour with it in different venues around Scotland. Bigger ambitions, write an album maybe. Haha who knows

Where can we catch you ?

Heaven Scent’s Christmas Festival in Milnathort- 10/12/17- sometime between 11- 3pm. In the process of obtaining more gigs.

Anything else?

Just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me with my debut EP ‘Moments’ was released in October and for following me on any of my social media accounts.
