Future Islands to play Ironworks in June 2018.

American synthpop stars or ,”dreampop rockers”, Future Islands who are based in Baltimore, have drawn comparisons to LCD Soundsystem, Depeche Mode and Chvrches. Tracks such as “A Dream Of You And Me”, “Back In The Tall Grass” and “Seasons” have earned them much attention.

Indeed over their 11 years the band have chalked up over a thousand gigs and five albums, helped on their way by a legendary performance on David Letterman’s late-night chat show. Over the years they have been championed by the likes of Bono and supported by many including Debby Harry who as a result featured on “Shadows,” from the band’s LP, The Far Field.

The band’s  live performances have been much heralded with frontman Samuel T Herring being described by The Observer as “one of the most sweatily intense singers around” adding “but it’s not just theatrics”.

Caroline Campbell, Director of Ironworks, says “We’re really excited to have Future Islands perform on the Ironworks’ stage – they’ve got a great energy. It’s always amazing to be able to host such prominent artists in the Highlands.”

PCL presents Future Islands, with support TBA as they play Ironworks, Inverness on the 12th of June, 2018.
