What’s happening?

TECHnique at The Tooth & Claw Inverness looks to bring to you one off specialized gigs in a unique 70 capacity venue. This time we have French born female DJ & producer Morgan Hammer, with local supporting DJs Alan MacPherson and Matt Lyon.

What are we going to hear?

From Morgan Hammer expect to hear beat steadiness with the huge moods of her various influences such as electro, techno, acid house or post-punk, with the warm up DJs setting the mood in the room ready for Morgan Hammer to take over.

Who’s going to be there?

Morgan Hammer was born in 1987 in Basque Country, where she discover electronic music during her long-time clubbing experience. She is a music lover since her teenage years. The legacy of her punk rock background clashing with the delicate sphere of romantic minimal music leads her to spin a wide array of emotions and grooves, a thoughtful story, from trippy discoïd elements to darker funkiness.

“I started to mix around 2007 when I discovered Michael Mayer, Justus Khoncke, Wolfgang Voigt, Kompakt artists in general were a revelation to me, and I soon became influenced by Daniel Avery, Ivan Smagghe, Andrew Weatherall, Chloé”

Alan MacPherson is an Inverness based DJ who has been instrumental in the Inverness dance scene since 2005 when he co-founded Audiolife. Alan started DJing in 1998 and is now resident DJ with Technique. In this time Alan has played along side some massive names in the music industry such as Funk D’void, Phil Kierin, Justin Robertson, James Lavelle, Altern-8, Harvey McKay, Tom Middleton, Dave Clarke, Mark Archer, Slam, Gary Beck, Silicone Soul, Hans Bouffmyhre, Nathan Coles, Harri & Domenic, Octave One, A Guy Called Gerald, Jon Desilva, Mr. C and Vitalic.

Matt Lyon is no stranger to the underground electronic music scene. Matt traveled the UK and Europe in search of new and exciting Techno inspiration.
