What is invernessGiGs?

InvernessGiGs is a one stop shop to help you find news about music, gigs and events of interest in Inverness and the surrounding areas.

So your a blog?

No, not at all. A blog is normally written by a single person or a small group with very similar tastes and a joint remit. invernessGiGs is more like a magazine with a growing list of contributers covering a wide range of genres, adopting various styles to this.

Its not really invernessGiGs then?

That’s a very good point, however it reflects the fact that Inverness has the main locations for gigs in the Highlands at this stage and also a fairly thriving music scene. We list GiGs from all over the Highlands and make sure that we cover festivals of note throughout Scotland.

What sort of things can we get read and see on InvernessGiGs?

Our priority is to provide up to date news on gigs in Inverness, although we also provide reviews, previews, general comment and the occassional photograph.

I like this site, what can we do to help?

First of all thank you, we really appreciate all feedback that we get and want to make this site the best it can be and appreciate your help with it. There are other things that you can do such as:

Tell people about the site, stick a link on your website, invite people on facebook, anything you want in theory.

You can send contributions, be it photos, reviews and or relevant articles which will always be gratefully received. So whether it is a bands perspective of a gig or abit of self promotion, a review or or whatever we are happy to put them on the website, you will get credited and the link will be sent to you in return.

You can also buy stuff through the links that will appear throughout the site (see below)

Why do you have adverts?

We work 7 days a week for at least a couple of hours every day, if we can make a little money along the way that would be great.

Do you provide listings of whats on and where?

We aspire to keep the listings (both in the sidebar and on thier own page) as up to date as possible. We are but a small outfit and should there be things that need to be included please give us a shout via admin@invernessgigs.co.uk

Why don’t you have local advertisers?

We are working on it!! Many local businesses could benefit from advertising on our website; should you wish to contact us to talk about including your advertisement on the site at admin@invernessgigs.co.uk

How many people use InvernessGiGs ?

Year average for 2011 was 280 a day.

I am a band and we want some promotion?

We want to cover as much live music and stuff as possible, but prefer to use material that is fresh – we would be happy to set up interviews with musicians to ensure a different perspective than ones already covered in the mainstream

Do you get support from venues, festivals or promoters?

We are an independent site that is not reliant on advertising, but we do have good relationships with a growing amount of venues and festivals and value this.
