Runrig have announced some of the acts to play the two day Party on the Moor on the 9th and 10th of August.
Heading up the announcement are two local bands, as Rory MacDonald, one of Runrig’s founding members explained “As a Highland band, we are incredibly proud of our roots and wanted to give local bands and those of a similar genre the opportunity to perform at what will be a very special celebration for us.” The two bands in question are Scooty and the Skyhooks and traditional music group, Gizzen Briggs.
Also part of the announcement is Grammy Nominee/Brit Award Winner Sharon Corr ,the popular Gaelic/English 6 piece Mànran and Glasgow based Washington Irving, (you can read our most recent review of them.)
The festivities also include a massive ceilidh on Friday 9 August with camping in the Showground ahead of the concert on the Saturday night.
Tickets for the Runrig Anniversary concert start at £45. There are also travel options for fans travelling from Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Perth.
