Red Ronson’s debut single Paper Statues, which has been registered for inclusion in the UK Charts, is released on the 24th of June. Last time we spoke to Red Ronson, just before Easter we asked what was next for the band, they replied; “We really just don’t know… that’s the fun of it… we’re just gonna keep being cheeky and aiming high this time, next year we could have a Brit award, or we could be busking in the high street… I think either way we will have a had a hell of a year and I hope we are still happy.” The band are not shy of a bit of self publicity whether it be handing out song sheets at gigs, creating a song from the words on Love Heart sweets or handing out flowers to promote gigs. The approach has been going down very well, if the crowd at their gig at goNORTH 2013 is anything to go by. So maybe it is no surprise that we find Paper Statues ready to go up against Olly Murs, Daft Punk and Jessie J for chart supremacy. Red Ronson’s folk pop styling is perfectly at odds with the majority of the chart music at the moment so perhaps we will hear “Let’s go we’re not messing about” echoing around the land. The single is available through most online retailers (or click the links above). Keep track of Red Ronson and remember to look at this page for the Red Ronson competition to win Belladrum tickets.
