Silver Coast 11
“They deliver powerful and emotional rock music”

Silver Coast made their festival debut in front of a small but already loyal following.

The Invernessian alt rockers looked at ease and it looks like the last year of work doing the rounds of the bars across the Highlands has paid off. Aaron Murray has apparently been taking vocal coaching lessons and it shows as he gives Matt Bellamy a run for his money in the soaring vocal stakes.

They deliver powerful and emotional rock music without straying into the mawkish emo territory so favoured by all too many bands these days! New single ‘Believe’ gets an airing but the highlight for me was the set closer ‘Runaway’.

I've always loved music and spent my late teens and early twenties playing guitar in various bands on Lewis and Aberdeen. Other than playing in some truly terrifying pubs in Aberdeen not much came of it and life became focused on family and having a 'proper' job. Inverness Gigs is an outlet for me to quell my inner frustrated musician and the caliber of local acts has even inspired me to take my own music more seriously again. Who knows, one day I might venture back on stage under the fierce scrutiny of an Inverness Gigs reviewer! You can contact Toby direct at
